At long last, Primal 2.0 is here.
Primal now offers a much more comprehensive view of Nostr, with the following additions:
  • New tab: READS
  • New tab: EXPLORE
  • Feed Marketplace
  • Advanced Search
Primal Premium has also been launched. For $7/month, you can get a Primal Name and Nostr Tools for power users.

Could I still use the previous Primal version to publish notes?

You still have to enter your nsec to primal to login. This is a nostr anti pattern.
Ideally your nsec should be stored in "nsecbunker" or amber and never leave it. Here's the login page of the flotilla app. See the difference?
My nsec is stored in amber, and should not be entered in any client. Instead, the client should remotely connect to amber to verify my identity and sign my notes.
Another issue is that, in the settings, it allows you to copy your nsec to the clipboard without verification of your identity. Also not good.

Good update, Primal is a solid client.

I'm actually pretty excited, the update looks really good.

Just updated on Android via Google Play, seems like a nice upgrade. Not sure how I feel about the Premium subscription, though. But they gotta make money somehow!
