We had an interesting conversation after publishing 7th round results of the cricket pool, which @Coinsreporter runs.
I noticed that I had a couple of stackers right on my heels with 24 points but I missed others that are close too.
So, I have added the runs achieved by every stacker in the 7 rounds up to now and put it in a spreadsheet to make things clearer.
I have noticed a small difference in the number of runs of @IamSINGLE, who appears with 21 runs in @Coinsreporter's list and I can find just 20. @Coinsreporter, could you check if I have my numbers wrong , please?
I am having a lot of fun with this competition which it's going to last for a loooong time.
What a way to eliminate best competition! ;)
Good job @Carresan.

It's been just a coincidence as I was adding the runs into the spreadsheet. Noticed at the end that my result was different to @Coinsreporter's.
It is going to be a long competition so I do not think that just one run will make a huge difference. Keep up the good job!
Also my apologies for referring to you as "he". I have now learned it.
reply
No problem for anything. It's not an ill attempt so I understand. I'm not checking like this cause I believe him. If I did, I'd have done the same. So, thanks.

I think every run matters (it's a saying in cricket). Suppose I win by 1 run in the end. In cricket most teams lose matches because they don't put weight on running singles or they give singles too easily by poor fielding.
There are countless matches in cricket which are very close and won by teams who played well for singles.

You're right, I have noticed that a lot of them are very tight matches. To be honest, I hope that this single run won't make a difference at the end.
reply
I wouldn't be happy if I achieved a win by a miscalculated point run. I want to win but with my legit score. I hope @Coinsreporter will take extra care in calculation from now. I understand this can happen from someone who says 1+1 is 1 because he doesn't see a 2 there.
reply
I'm having a lot of fun, especially because I'm absolutely walloping my podcast partner.
reply
But you have to keep watching @Carresan's butt until you forward yours.
reply
He has to keep watching his butt as well, because pretty soon I'll be right up on it.
reply
It's going to be tight this round. The match between Australia vs India is going to be the one to make the difference.
reply
You took Australia, then?
reply
Yes! Also, we have a different result for the number of runs that Kohli will make.
reply
I made that choice after seeing @Coinsreporter roasting people for picking "no". Don't steer me wrong Coins.
reply
I want you to read Kohli's stats for that. He's sitting at the 4th position among all time run scorers. For me he's only 2nd after Sachin Tendulkar.
You'll see in this series against Australia KOHLI IS GONNA PILE UP THE RUNS.
I must admit that I have no clue if he's going to make it. The trouble is that the match is played at 3 am in my time zone, so I would probably see the result in the morning.
I would be having more fun if I was winning. But I am still having fun.
reply
Although you can still win it for the month, it's a year long pool and you can be the one to win that.
reply
Hahaha, I am sure you will rise from your ashes. You have time before Halloween 25.
reply
It's been fun! A lot closer than I was expecting too, I guess everything evens out over time.
reply
I'm glad you're enjoying it. I suspect it's gonna be closer every month and closer for the annual reward as well.
reply
Thanks for the mention and forward with appreciation. I'm glad you're enjoying the Cricket Pool as much as I do.
I was also planning to post a few words of CAUTION asking Stackers to do a recheck of their runs. I also do double check before posting the runs but you know it's manual and I'm human.
Thanks for your effort. I really appreciate but I can't zap this post.
reply
I really appreciate but I can't zap this post.
No worries, I am just trying to help. I could not imagine I was going to have fun with cricket.
reply
You can zap anon.
reply
I've never done that, not even in fun. I'll zap him from @SN_MusicPool account.
The fun part is that I got back 80%. Haha
reply
I think you deserve it!
reply
I understand your point and I really appreciate it. Thanks again. Can you please point out which round had me commit the mistake in counting?
reply
I think that it was correct up to round 6, where he had 17. Then, in the 7th round, he got 3 runs and it should appear 20 ,instead of 21.
reply
In the sixth round she (not he) had 18. #771625
reply
Sorry my mistake you are right. In round 5, she had 16. Then in round 6 , she got 1 run and appears 18
she (not he)
My apologies!
reply
Thanks. I got it. I'll mend it in the next round and in future double double check before posting runs.
I'm not doing this on a sheet because it consumes more time on my tiny screen of mobile. I did it for convenience and because it was a mistake in total I doubt I first calculated more runs for the round and while recalculating I forgot to minus the correction from total.
I now think it'd be better to do the calculation on a spreadsheet.
reply
No problems at all! Happy to help if you need it! Once you do, it's easy to update it.
Oh it's great.
reply
I am having fun as well as crying too!
