Hello Stackers!
It's Thursday so that means it's Throwback Thursday Time!
Throwback Thursday is changing, (or rather, I'm trialling something out).
I'm going to give you a bunch of clues and I want you to guess the year and comment a song from that year. Highest ranked correct answer (by "top") gets the bounty. Entries close prior to "Feel Good Friday" Post.
🚨A guess without a correct song doesn't win, both your guess and the song must be from the correct year.🚨
Here we go!
  • The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: This album spent 15 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200.
  • The Jimi Hendrix Experience's Are You Experienced: This was the debut album of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, recorded in the UK. Pink Floyd's "Games for May": This was the first rock concert with quadraphonic sound, held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.
  • "Ode to Billie Joe" by Bobbie Gentry: This song won three Grammys.
  • "San Francisco" by Scott McKenzie: This song became a hippie anthem and reached number one almost everywhere.
  • "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum: This debut single spent six weeks at number one in the UK charts.
  • "Daydream Believer" by The Monkees: This song demonstrated the band's songwriting and musical skills.
  • "A Day in the Life" by The Beatles: The BBC initially banned this song from broadcast due to perceived drug references.
  • "To Sir With Love" by Lulu: This song was number one on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles.
  • "The Letter" by The Box Tops: This song was number two on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles.
  • "Windy" by The Association: This song was number four on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles.

«A Day in the Life» is a song by the English band The Beatles and the final track on their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the song features separate renditions that were written by band members John Lennon and Paul McCartney separately, with additional orchestral contributions, making this one of the last times they performed a song together as they did in their early years.

Sorry but you can't mention it and I not take the opportunity to listen to A Whiter Shade of Pale. It's one of my favourite songs of all time.
