Since I am (almost) only nostr, it is so hard to interact with normies.
Whenever I get good content linked by friends, let it be memes, good articles, fun stuff, I want to zap!
On SN it is totally normal to zap. The only time I really think about zapping here is when I custom zap.
On Primal the same, zapping is the better like for sure!
But when I have friends around, I want to zap them. But I cannot! They do not even understand! I have a friend on Primal, yes! But he never posts anything. He still sends me stuff on WhatsApp and I cannot zap. I forced him to post the rum picture on Nostr so I can zap him for his new bottles!
How about you guys? Do you miss zapping in normie land?

Same here. My asshole friends and colleagues can’t break out of the FAANG bubble and stick to it. They won’t use any platform unless it has reached millions. They keep sharing stuff on social media like X, Instagram, and Facebook, all of which I’ve already ditched. The only way I’m still connected to them is through Telegram and Email. I wish they were on Nostr.

Haha! I really didn’t want to be an algorithm slave. They’re experimenting on us like lab rats and it’s depressing once you realize that while those platforms are free to use, you’re paying with your soul, privacy, and rational thinking.

My biggest thing is that before facebook there was a bulletin board that I posted long messages. Paragraphs were written. Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and my own zine I did in the late 1980s and early 1990s were all about sharing content and I only got paid when I sold the zines in person or had mail orders. On the web from 1997 to 2021 I didn't make anything until I had Stacker News. I love paying to play and then getting zapped when someone likes what I wrote.
Sure there may be some subjects that are not interesting to Stackers but I don't care. On Nostr I like getting zaps too and it's a surprise when I trigger someone and they give me 1000 sats! It's nice to also be able to donate to others who are doing a great job too!

Exactly! All the twitter likes were nice but when someone gives you a truly scarce asset it makes a big difference. Like all the businesses offering points are just trying to print fiat and we go through so many hoops just to get points when we could just stack bitcoin and beat everyone else. I really love when I see family or friends go after points and totally ignore bitcoin.

Once we take the path of VxV there is no turning back.
It happens to me the same, although I still use YouTube and Tweeter for some things, I don't usually comment on anything anymore. And when I see something that brings me value, I always think, oh I could do Zap! but then I react, and they are normie they don't know what that is.
There is a One Piece popularizer in Spanish who is very good, narrating the manga and theorizing. But he can't dedicate all the time he wants to that work, he lives in Canada and has to make money in the FIAT world. That YouTube thing with One Piece is just a hobby. But sometimes he can't do that hobby because of his Fiat obligations. And every month life gets more expensive, anyway. I have left him many messages on his Discord, on Youtube to leave a LN Address to support his content and do Zap and promote VxV But he doesn't read me, he doesn't understand me or he just doesn't pay attention to me. I started telling him that when we were like 40k a few months ago and zero response from him. 🤷
