WorkIt, the fitness app that allows you to earn sats for steps and by participating in challenges has offered the Health and Fitness territory instructor access, so we can create our own Stacker News Fitness Challenges.
Buy in for the first challenge would be 10k sats and everyone that completes the challenge would share in the final rewards pool.
An example of a challenge would be walking 10k steps a day for a given time period. I am sure there are more creative ones we can come up with but let's start simple.
Just wanted to post to gauge interest from Stackers in joining a WorkIt challenge for February. If we get enough participants, I will kick in an extra 10k sats to the reward pool for everyone that completes the challenge to share.
Sats for all, GR
Okay I just downloaded it. Give me some time to learn the ropes.
I think @Carresan will be interested as well

Already completing challenges in Workit since July. I recommend it as I have already completed 5 challenges and getting closer to the sixth in 3 days time. No issues with payments, easy to withdraw sats and, on top of that, I received 20k sats after last month challenge as one of the lucky winners!
reply
That’s why you have stopped being so active here, huh? 🤔
Just kidding!
Congrats on those lucky sats! And for sharing your process haha
reply
Well , I have been very busy lately and not having enough time to spend here. However, I tend to check now and then to see how things are going.

He was the one that turned the rest of us on to WorkIt
reply
I was happy to share it after checkin myself first and saw it was a great experience, pushing me to exercise and, then, earning sats at the same time.
reply
Sounds great! I'll match your 10k reward boost.
We could make it a 21 day challenge, instead of the usual 14.
reply
im up for this, needs to drop on android first tho
reply
You are the second to mention that and I know @Coinsreporter is waiting for android as well. Maybe we will have to postpone the idea until they launch on Android.
reply
Or maybe we can do it with sMiles? What do you say?
reply
We can track steps on sMiles but we can't coordinate competitions so what we would have to do is coordinate it all on SN and everyone post a pic of their step count from the previous day.
reply
Is that sMiles pro app?
It actually says that we can have such competitions by a company account?
Can you please give me the link of the app, it's difficult to find it for there are many smiles apps?

I see. This isn't available in my country. That's why I couldn't find it.
reply
That's too bad. Kind of a handy app. Only issue is you have to stack 5k sats before they let you withdraw. That will take a long time even if you are maxing out the sats for steps. They do offer some games you can play to earn more sats.
I think you can get around 20 sats a day for steps.
Yeah, I'm also waiting for the Android application.
reply
we're missing out on an orgy of sats!
reply
What a fantastic idea @grayruby! There is only one constraint as, without paying for a subscription , you can only participate in one challenge at a time. I will need to work the numbers out if it is worthy paying the subscription to consider joining more than one challenge.
reply
I’m in, but we should have a category for weights and/or racquet sports and not plain old steps. I also just downloaded the app, will test it out
reply
How have you found this app does it work well? I had not heard of it! Can you connect Garmin watch to it?
reply
I like it. I have joined a number of challenges and never had issues get paid out or withdrawing sats. Only issue I seem to have is it logs me out all the time.
I think it is only available on IOS right now which seems to be the drawback for most users. They are supposed to have an android version soon. I think we might have to wait until that is released as we have a number of folks interested but on android only,
reply
Seems like it could be a good thing I’ll have a play with it
reply
I’d love to join. Give me a week as I have a cruise with no wifi this week
reply
In.
Does that mean the territory has to survive thru February? Haha!
reply
yes.
(provided they ship Android by then, but sure.)
reply
Apple only is a bummer.
