President Donald Trump has openly called for the US to annex Greenland. However, Greenland’s residents don’t want to be part of the US empire. Unfortunately, this is another chapter in the sorry history of US acquisitions.
Just saw this RealLifeLore video a couple hours ago, prior to seeing this SN post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8j2uWw3WfU
And saw this Peter Zeihan video a couple weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At74k92vS10&t=342s
I already knew of a couple immediate benefits of U.S. getting Greenland as 51st state: Offshore gas (and oil?) ... just sitting there, New channels for running fiber optic, Extend continental shelf claims,
reply
There's no chance of Greenland becoming a state. It will be a US Territory, which is a much better deal for them, anyway.

Says who? It would seem they want to tell the Danes to GFY above all else, and they also need money... a deal with the US achieves both ends.
Had intercontinental ballistic missiles been such a material thing in the 50's, the US would never given it back. The Space Force base there is our early warning system for trajectories over the arctic, and even that is barely adequate for the Soviet Union for whom it was built... considering China's ICBM build-up more stations are needed.
This is all without mention of nuclear submarines and arctic sea lanes. It's happening (if it hasn't happened behind closed doors already) because it's a no brainer.
The only question now is minor details and context of disclosure, will european monarchies be allowed to save face during this re-alignment, or are they going to get exposed as the parasites they've been for centuries?
Not lost on me this is two retarded articles from Mises in as many days, sounds like they've been captured by WEF money.

A secret American military base in Greenland built during the Cold War was recently discovered. For me that's been the plan from the beginning. As is Trump's habit, he demands a lot to get what he really wants. He will be satisfied with controlling the sea route and the construction of a military base. The fact is, and this is nothing new, American foreign policy, regardless of the party, has always been very aggressive using sanctions, embargoes and especially espionage.

Camp Century wasn't a secret the way you're implying. The Wikipedia page on it was created in 2019: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Century
It's been publicly known since 1996 when the documents on it were declassified. The Danish government was informed about it prior to construction, and the Danish government already had an agreement with the US to allow military bases to be built on certain areas of Greenland. The Danish government did not explicitly approve of Camp Century, which was built outside the agreed upon areas. That's an interesting story: https://www.sciencenordic.com/denmark-forskerzonen-history/how-the-us-built-a-mysterious-military-camp-under-the-greenland-ice-sheet/1451993
reply
I understand, but the base was secret even with the consent of the Danish government

I think I remember that. It was several years ago, right?
reply
It appears to have been discovered in 2019 with the melting of the ice. This base called Camp Century was built in the 1950s and was abandoned in 1966.
reply
Nope. It was publicly known since at least 1996 when the documents on it were declassified: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Century
By 2016 scientists were already studying it to determine if it was an environmental hazard.
reply
2016 seems more like when I remember seeing something about it.
reply
That'd make sense. You probably heard of it because of the environmental impact research.
Yeah, I remember seeing a video about them excavating it.
reply
It appears that this military base was supplied by the world's first mobile nuclear reactor, with the aim of eventually serving as a launching base for nuclear missiles against the Soviet Union in the event of war.
reply
We still colonizing, huh?
reply
Never really stopped. They're just willing to call it what it is again.
reply
Who has the US colonized? Other than everyone who uses the petrodollar.

Trump seems to be still seeking attention after becoming president, with all these geopolitical issues including Greenland and the Panama Canal. Certainly his rise to the White House has brought many questions to his decisions.
