I was nearly broke once and could only afford to fly home because the lady at the counter noticed my desperation and waived some fees. I think that counts. 👀
Yeah, my attitude toward "the poor" became much less sympathetic after being quite poor myself as a young adult.

I just don't trust that poor people are actually poor.
Here in Europe, they are just trying to make you feel guilty and in the evening you see them walking around with friends. I don't know, it just feels like some scheme.
In the states, the beggars are at least intimidating haha

+1000 on guilt-trippers, bro it's so bad when even your own friends would eventually ask for money.
They have the money and it feels like you said, a scheme to not spend their own money because you're there. But when I was super poor I never had the courage to even think of asking for money, why would anyone feel comfortable doing so?
