Here is what we did last year for a March Madness contest #470177
Posting this to get some ideas for what kind of contest you guys would like to see for the March Madness tournament this year. We can always run back what we did last year but let's see if we can think up something better.
Following the NCAA football points challenge model could work as well but that will be a lot of games to pick.
Let's hear your ideas. Selection Saturday will be March 16th and the first round will start March 20th so we have some time to figure out what we want to do.
Sats for all, GR

Hm...I missed it past year (IDK why), but seems like it was intresting...to pick just once a team...it needs a good strategy :) I will think about new features...maybe I will figure out something!

I just read again the past year post...It's so complex, and explained every detail. Because I don't participated past year, I don't know if the challenge was sharpened, or "boring" (1 player was before others with major advantage), and (probably the most important detail in my point of view) what is the percentage of players they got into the final reported to the total number of players. If this percentage is small (just a few players "arrived" to the final), I think it could be useful to have a "second chance - a second life" during the game. More peoples close to final => the game will not become boring (for peoples who was eliminated before), and of course...more players => more sats ;)
But this is only my opinion :)

We definitely had more players eliminated early than I expected or hoped for last year. Not sure if that was due to anomaly (there were a lot of unexpected upsets) or the contest format. Good point though that keeping people involved throughout is much better. I will have to think about how we can achieve that.

An other idea....idk if this will be OK, or it's against the rules / the principles... What if...after a player was eliminated, he/she have the possibility to "rebuy" their membership for a symbolic amount of sats (except the final)...the number of rebuy's can be from 1 to unlimited (it depend how will be decided). And the sats from rebuy to go to the prize pool... It's just a suggestion, but maybee works.
OR...
To keep as much players involved it's possible to use a point system. In case of wrong prediction players will be not eliminated, but get 0 points for that prediction...
What do you think?
