pull down to refresh

Trudeau is out and Mark Carney is in.
In what can only be described as a sterling display of democracy, Carney will become the new Prime Minister after elected Liberal party leader in a vote open only to Liberal Party members. 150k people voted. For context, that is 1/5th of the voter turnout as the last mayoral election in Toronto.
For more context. 0.37% of the Canadian population elected the new Prime Minister but you can be sure whenever the election is called it will be Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre that gets labelled a "danger to democracy". After all he wants to do horrible, undemocratic things like defunding state run propaganda machine, err I mean media, the CBC.
Let's see if the snake Carney can pull the wool over enough Canadian's eyes to get himself re-elected whenever an election is called.
At least I had a lot of Carney shares on Predyx.
Sats for all, GR
150k people voted.
And yet they're so concerned about democracy. Is there any wonder the label "NPC" has caught on for people like this?
reply
Well only Liberal Party members were allowed to vote. Rather than just calling an election when Trudeau said he was stepping down they prorogued parliament for 8 weeks and had this farcical leadership race so they could install the person they wanted to run in the general election later this year.

Aren't they one of the major parties in Canada though? Like the Democratic Party in the US?
Then again, I guess no one really voted for the Democratic Party candidate in the US either lol (Kamala)
reply
Yes, they currently the party in power. I think there are 400k total members across the country but only 150k voted. Most probably didn't bother because they knew they who was going to win. Like in the US the machine gets who the machine wants.

It's always like this... "mortal enemies" in front of the TV screens, but good friends behind the scenes
reply
FYI @mega_dreamer. Market is still up.
reply
Thanks, will resolve it in few hours to Mark Carney/YES
reply
That's fine. What about Champions Trophy? Why It was closed prior to the final?
reply
Sorry, we had the wrong timezone as the market closing time, thus premature closure.
Next time on-wards I will consult you for exact timezone and along with date/time for cricket markets. But we will resolve to India/YES in few hours.
reply
wrong timezone
Yupp that's what I guessed and it was like 12 hours before. I think you should set the times as per the host nation time zone.
And it's time you also put up a market for IPL. It'll commence on March 22.
reply
Yes, we'll be more cautious with international sports markets timezone.
Can you please point me to IPL teams names and close date/time in UTC Timezone.
We'll get the world series and IPL listed by tomorrow.
We got very busy with some technical work, big updates coming later this week.
I see. There are 300 sats to be win there. 😜
reply
What do you mean? I have 16,500 YES shares for Carney and 27,000 NO shares for some of the other candidates.
reply
I mean we can still win 300 sats if we buy 5000 "Yes" shares.
Why do you habe no shares now? Why don't you sell them now?
reply
I have no shares for other candidates and those are winners. I bought them when those candidates dropped out of the race.
