Fuck the ereader walled garden ecosystem

A little while ago I broke out an old kobo I'd gotten for my schooling. At another time, I'd figured out a way to upload various files from my pc (drag-and-drop). Since then, maybe due to updates, my computer doesn't recognize the thing when I plug it in. They want me to use their software, which works in thr same fashion you'd expect of doggy doo-doo.
Anyway, that's the background. It took a few Google searches and tearing out my hair momentarily before I found this handy tool.
It allows you to send any file you can find on the internet (hint use the onion address listed on the wikipedia), such as any ebook, pdf or files otherwise readable by your ereader with very little friction to your ereader browser.
So if you hate reading from your computer/phone screen and don't have the space or capital to start your own library, the pick up a cheap used ereader and get started (with one caveat: the ereader needs to have basic internet browsing capabilities).

Follow these steps:

  1. Find and download your ebook (by any means necessary ☝️👀) on your computer or other device
  2. Use same device and open d.jazz webpage and upload the file there, toggling any other settings you deem necessary.
  3. Open d.jazz on your ereader browser, take the unique key you see there and enter it on your other device. Click "upload and send."
Done. Now, start reading -- you have no excuses, plebs.

FYI

Your ebook will be stored on the server as long as your Kobo/Kindle is viewing the unique key and is connected to wifi. It will be deleted irrevocably when the key expires about 30 seconds after you close the browser, generate a new key or disable wifi on your ereader.
