Happy to announce the launch of Bitcoin Calendar Bot v1.0.0
Bitcoin Calendar Bot is an open source Go-based application that tracks and posts historical Bitcoin events daily to Nostr.
After almost 3 years since Bitcoin Calendar project was born in the Google walled garden, and numerous tries to ensure that historical events are relayed to Nostr in a timely manner, I am happy to announce the launch of the Bitcoin Calendar Bot.
The project currently supports English and Russian versions with dedicated Nostr accounts:
The project is open source, visit our GitHub repository for technical details: https://github.com/Bitcoin-Calendar/calendar-bot.
Non technical users are welcome to visit our website to find out more about the project and see our roadmap: https://bitcoin-calendar.org
Support Bitcoin Calendar on Geyser: https://geyser.fund/project/bitcoincalendar
Feedback and contributions are very welcome – DM your thoughts to Bitcoin Calendar (EN) on Nostr or reach @Tony here on SN.

I've been running into your notes lately on nostr and I've been loving it. It's easy to forget all this stuff.

Congrats on the launch! Bitcoin Calendar Bot sounds like a fantastic way to keep track of Bitcoin’s history.
Love the open-source aspect too!
Quick question: Are there any plans to add more languages or integrate with other platforms down the line? Looking forward to seeing how this evolves—definitely going to check out the GitHub and roadmap!

Thanks a lot! Yes, there are many enhancement plans for the project including additional languages. I was planning to prioritize Spanish and German, and of course the languages most requested by the community.
The open source factor means that anyone will be able to suggest new translations, and I’ve got bounties planned for active contributors too.
Any particular language you have in mind or maybe would like to contribute towards adding?
You can follow the link below to see the roadmap. Everyone is welcome to suggest changes here too as this is my personal vision, while I’d like the project to thrive as a community driven one, so I’ll be happy to adjust.

Love the idea of expanding to Spanish and German, definitely some big markets there.
For other languages, French could be worth considering—France has been seeing a rise in crypto adoption. And Portuguese could be the other good choice, one of the biggest crypto markets in the world is now Brazil! I’d be happy to help with basic translations where I can!
Looks like a lot of great stuff ahead!

100% I actually thought of French and Portuguese as the “next in line” to add, and there is no exact order to do it. I will reach out to you when I finalize the English version — formatting, hashtags, media, etc. hope to finish this by end of April / beginning of may.
By the way, AI does a pretty good job translating, so mainly I would need help with proofreading, which shouldn’t be time consuming in my experience.
Thanks for your feedback!
