a loaded question that popped into my mind. where do i even begin... i do not have sources to cite, these are thoughts directly from the connectome.
  • are binkies (pacifiers) necessary at all?
    • is being offered a binkie the first lie babies encounter in this world? when a binkie was too big, i stuck a pinkie in his mouth and it worked.
    • he sucks on his fist or thumb (depending on the stage of development) anyway in order to soothe himself, so maybe it doesn't matter?
  • shud binkies be soft, hard, chewable, or it depends on whether the baby has teeth or not?
    • i really don't know how to think thru this one; there is the jaw strength development, orbicularis oris muscle development, and it is all probably related to speech development.
  • besides avoiding microplastics and BPA, what material shud the soft binkies be made of?
    • latex? natural plant rubber? silicone? soft wood?
  • what about binkies made of mineral rocks?
    • if we are all made of earth primordial sludge like Adam (ah-dum = the earth in hebrew), does it make sense to have a binkie made of granite, limestone, or some other rock formation? what about Mesopotamian clay?
    • what if i get him a chess set made of a rock varieties to suck on (where pawns are too big to swallow)?
Pawn would be a good shape but I don't know if he will like the texture.

apparently the youngest person to get a chess rating on record was 3 yo. i don't intend to make him a grandmaster or anything - i think it's a good educational tool in order to lean how to think ahead. i have been eyeing chess sets that look cool, made of minerals.

I usually play chess with my daughter (6yrs old) a couple times a week. She is getting pretty good. She needs a little help strategizing how to finish out the game but she enjoys it and is learning a lot.

we need to genetically engineer and lab grow big DD milkers then. only logical solution

isn't there a simpler common-sense solution, such as crowd-sourcing excess breast milk... additionally, overprescribing of baby formula is rampant, because either babies do not adhere to a standard growth chart (not meeting number-based criteria) or proper breastfeeding education is lacking, resulting in inadequate milk supply from the breasts.
btw, this baby formula is going to contain bug powder and is marketed as "safe and effective." also, is there a guarantee that the genetically modified breasts are going to be producing quality milk? does nature make any mistakes?
reply
probably, but I don't like it. I like the idea of recycling big boob's and Tossing them around the house to use like throw pillows

In general, parents overthink all of this stuff and there's no evidence that any of it makes much difference.
Do or don't, it's fine either way as long as you aren't using something toxic or a choking hazard.

i agree, it is better to first contemplate what are the wrong things to do.
