it's a birthday cake with borax (sodium tetraborate) for ants (and a cinnamon stick), on their deathday! this substance "interferes with their digestive system," which i interpret as causing leaky gut or exploding guts.
"The natural substance, also known as sodium tetraborate decahydrate, has a long history of consumer usage. In the United States, widespread use dates back to the late 1800’s when borax first became widely available. Today, borax can be found in many household consumer products, including laundry boosters, household cleaners, mouthwashes, eyewashes and toothpastes." Terro
"Borax can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea if you ingest it by itself, and large amounts can lead to shock and kidney failure. It's banned in U.S. food products. It also can irritate your skin and eyes, and it can hurt your nose, throat, and lungs if you breathe it in. If you're around it often, it can cause rashes and might affect male reproductive organs." WebMD
that's very enlightening. this substance is OK to put in the mouth as a mouthwash or toothpaste, but ingestion is highly advised against. gotcha...
by the way: Anu Naki translates as "Ant Friends." source i hope the friends will understand my frustration at their trespassing.
