What an odd time to announce it? NBA needs to do an awards show after the season like NFL or at least do what baseball does and have specific dates/times specific awards will be announced.
Maybe they were trying to avoid announcing it during the series on purpose? Because the series is still going on, maybe the league don't want to fuel either SGA or Joker from winning/losing the MVP. Maybe they wanted the series to be over before announcing it, so the announcement/award of trophy has no impact on how the series would play out?
