This is a really interesting list. I even ended up watching the video about the oldest restaurant, which is in China.
Saying that these businesses are the same as when they were founded is really just a way of saying they’ve kept the same name and location — but in my view, even a simple change in management already represents a shift. Not to mention the technological adaptations over the centuries.
It would be absurd to think that a business that’s 800 years old never adapted to electricity or improved its practices. Those that have managed to remain as traditional as possible truly earn my admiration.

That's super cool. How can they really know though? It seems like it'd be a massive amount of investigatory work to do this for every country.
