Thanks for sharing this @birdeye21 this was a fantastic read that I have bookmarked and had me inspired to take the whole day to think about this.
I want to take the time to give each section some added contexture that I think lends to what you are saying. I also want to end with what I think about currently right now but as you will see there are so many treasures left to discover on this journey with God, which is why its such a beautiful thing to know him closer and closer.
Do you believe evil exists? Objective evil. Not moral relativism. Are there things we can actually know are evil, regardless of opinion, in the same way we can know that 2+2=4?
Some of the great theologians of our time preached objective morality, which really streamlines natural law and eternal law getting rid of cultural underpinnings we can find ourselves in. So when people push back on such beliefs you need not to argue or reply as a Christian.
One person who I think actually carried out this worldview logically, consistently, and literally is Jeffrey Dahmer: “If a person doesn’t think that there is a God to be accountable to, then what’s the point of trying to modify your behavior to keep it within acceptable ranges? That’s how I thought anyway. I always believed the theory of evolution as truth, that we all just came from the slime. When we died, you know, that was it, there was nothing….”
Yes evil is real but make no mistake it is a lack of something in us that ought to be present.
In catholicism sin is classified in a number of ways. I am still a terrible sinner which is why I go to confession often but have gotten better of ridding myself of different sins over time.
Mortal Sin
-Grave matter (serious offense, e.g., murder, adultery)
-Done with full knowledge
-Done with deliberate consent
-Effect: Separates the soul from God’s grace (i.e., spiritual death)
Venial Sin
-Lesser sin, or done without full knowledge/consent
-Weakens the soul but does not destroy grace
-Still serious, but doesn't sever relationship with God
Sins of Commission vs. Omission
-Commission – doing something you shouldn’t (e.g., lying)
-Omission – failing to do something you should (e.g., not helping someone in danger)
Capital Vices
-Pride – inordinate self-love
-Greed (Avarice) – love of money/things over God
-Lust – misuse of sexuality
-Envy – sorrow at another's good
-Gluttony – overindulgence, usually in food or drink
-Wrath – uncontrolled anger
-Sloth (Acedia) – spiritual laziness, especially avoiding the good
I strongly believe any bitcoiners looking for a place to start with God should read into biblical prophecy. Looking through a prophetic lens at geopolitical tensions, the brewing of a global financial surveillance state, and everything else bitcoiners are tuned into feels like having the final puzzle piece to complete the whole picture. Not only can you understand why everything is taking place, but you can know what's to come next. Not speculate. Know. (That is, assuming you've accepted the Bible as the literal Word of God).
I also recommend reading "Thank God For Bitcoin" by Jimmy Song, that one instantly clicked for me when I was returning to my faith whole heartedly in 2020. Thats why I have always said privately Bitcoin for me has always been a God mission. It's about building an Ark and saving our communities before the great flood thats coming.
Regardless of the future for bitcoin, it seems that believers of Christ, if we’re respecting God’s prophecy, have to concede that bitcoin’s promise may very well “fail” before it works. Perhaps all the red flags bitcoiners are raising--governments getting in bed with bitcoin, ETFs, Tradfi's subversion of Satoshi's vision--speak to this reality. Though not permanent, it could be the reality we face first, before God breaks the chains and lets hyperbitcoinization run free.
Make no mistake their are people in our industry working with lawmakers and the deep-state to make sure it fails. This is why it has to come from the communities at the local level. They can infiltrate, starve us and try to eradicate it from the inside out but once they see Christ, and the love of God they are pushed out naturally by the light of him because it becomes so overwhelming to them. I've seen it so many times in our community and at PlebLab.
I've come to believe that I likely won't be around for the prosperity bitcoin suggests. But that doesn't mean I have to forgo pushing for bitcoin adoption. It's a primary tool for combatting Satan's plan, and I feel all the more empowered to fight knowing that it's a spiritual war I'm fighting in.
For this revolution God only wants you to inspire the next person to stand up and take the baton.
God does not want us to be bystanders on the sideline, sitting with our ticket waiting to catch a bus ride to heaven. He wants us actively fighting in this war, fighting for truth, and not making peace with evil. Like our human bodies, the body of Christ's Church has many different functions. However we are best equipped to participate in this fight, we should be giving it our all.
At the end of the day I believe:
Money should:
-Facilitate fair exchange.
-Serve the common good.
-Be stable in value and not manipulated.
I honestly do not think that is too much to ask.
Money doesn’t naturally produce more money. You can't "sell time."
Lending should be an act of charity or investment, not exploitation or expectation.
It shouldn’t be used to dominate or harm others — especially the poor like it is used today.
woo doggie! got the last comment in shill in @Undisciplined
We are putting together our analytics dashboard finally and something we track is projects across the last couple years, now not all of them raised money but it will be cool to see all that front line data we have access to and how it correlates to VC data.
But Amazon would be the most high-profile bidder for the company, which has also attracted interest from the billionaire Frank McCourt as well as Jesse Tinsley, the founder of the payroll firm Employer.com. The buzz around the company has also invited a spate of last-minute offers. On Wednesday, a firm called Zoop, whose leaders include the founder of OnlyFans, the adult entertainment site, said that it submitted a bid for TikTok’s U.S. operations. Zoop said it was partnering with a cryptocurrency foundation on its plan and that it had been communicating with the White House.
Better Amazon than some 💩coin company tying it to a token.
