I'm not saying they look the same, but race is a demographic category and for some reason half of humanity was dumped into "Asian".

Asian is not a race but ethnicity (demographic category)
Race has color and a genetic/dna component
Hispanic is a demographic category but it's not a race

Not according to pretty much anyone who maintains demographic statistics.
East Asians are not the same as South Asians
when people say all Asians look the same they are not talking about India
