OpenAI might be the biggest name but they are no longer the top disruptor as Defense Company Anduril has seized the top spot. Anduril, who offers UAS and counter-UAS, semi-portable autonomous surveillance systems and network command and control software, has made HUGE moves this year.
In February, Anduril took over Microsoft’s multibillion-dollar Integrated Visual Augmentation System wearables program with the U.S. Army, a contract that was valued at nearly $22 billion. Then in May, Anduril teamed up with Meta to develop the VR and AR headsets for use by the U.S. Army as part of that program.
This is the first time a Defense company has been number one on the CNBC Disrupter list but they are not alone. Number 7, Flock Safety, makes security hardware and software. Number 19, Saronic, builds unmanned maritime vessels. Number 38, Shield AI, is an autonomous drone company.
Overall the list is covered in Drone and AI companies across the board which I do not think is surprising to anyone!
