Trump says he’ll bring back military bases named after Confederate generals if reelected. The Army (under Biden) renamed them in 2023, dropping names like Fort Bragg and Fort Hood for ties to the Confederacy. Now Trump calls the switch “political correctness” and vows to reverse it.
That 2020 law remains in effect, which means Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will have to find other veterans with identical names to rename the bases after.
This should lead to some comedic moments.
