WNBA salaries are based on the current broadcasting rights contract which was made prior to Caitlin Clark joining the league and bringing more attention to the league. Once that deal is up they can negotiate a larger deal and players will be paid more. Not that hard.
No, it is not that hard. However, to say outright, before any negotiations or sales happen that they should be paid 1/5 the amount of the NBA is rather feckless, don’t you think.
I think the WNBA needs a few more Clarks to really make a good go of it. I don’t know how they will do it if the players insist on driving the stars out of the game, though. How do you think they should take care of the fouls situation?

Even if they get 1/5 of the ratings it doesn’t mean that will generate 1/5 the revenue. Same goes with attendance. The fever might sell out but at an avg of 20 dollars a ticket whereas the Pacers sell out with an avg of 200 dollars a ticket.

Yes, there is a vast difference in what the fans see as value in the proposition. There has to be better value in the value proposition to sell the tickets. Maybe, they think that their current strategy towards Clark will bring them in more valuable customers. I don’t see it, do you?
