Act I: John's Graduation
John completed his graduation this year with perfect scores, he aspires to join ISRO to further give wings to his dreams. On the night of his graduation, he gives a party to his friends, he came second in his Final Year test
[At the party, John with his friends]
John: Haha, it's finally been 3 years. Now I can finally escape this coop.
Robert: You don't want to study anymore? I thought you would keep studying till death.
John (dreamily): Nah, I have someone to meet.
Arthur: Omg, you never said things like that. Who is the special girl?!
John (smirks): You'll know soon enough
[After about an hour, all the guests leave and John is left with his close friends]
Robert: It's sad Frank couldn't join us
John: Yeah, I called him but he said he had to attend a meeting in Ahmedabad
Arthur: Ahmedabad? Isn't that where Rachel lives?!
John (blushes): Yeah, it is.
[John's phone rings]
John: Antony? Why's he calling so late at night? I've never talked to him before, what is he like?
Robert: He's a good guy, idk why he's calling you.
[Picks up the call]
John: Hello
Antony (on the phone): Rachel married Frank, I saw his private story on Instagram.

John hangs up the call

Robert: What happened? What did he say?
Arthur: John? You okay?
[John calls Frank but he doesn't pick up the call]
John: Why doesn't he pick up the call?
[Emotion overwhelms John but he calls Frank 2 more times]
Buzz...
Frank (over the phone): I'm very sorry bro, she was too good.
John: You could've told me...
[Frank cuts the call]
[Fast Forward]
Act II: Blurry Nights
After 50 years, John is on his deathbed in the ICU of a renowned hospital. He has lived a good life and continues to live over his regrets
John: sigh
Stranger: So, you're a proud dad.
[John turns his head to find Rachel (then 70) on another bed beside his]
John: Oh. Yes.
Rachel: So. You finally moved on haha. I knew you were always strong.
John: I'm a bachelor. I adopted 2 kids.
[Tears well up in Rachel's eyes]
Rachel: So you won't let me die without regrets.
John: ...
