Indeed. We need supernatural help but taking that out if we aim for something lower we will hit it. I think this is a key aspect in living the Christian life is realizing God's love is without condition but we do need to aspire to a higher goal and through that work we learn how much we need Him and the broader effect is that the world around us benefits.
