No....I understand its a criticism of the shitcoinery, but I think of it another way.
Shitcoiners should be forced to peddle their wares at a bitcoin conference. They should explicitly need to acknowledge that without us their "industry" doesn't exist.
Same, he is making everyones job a lot harder out there associating us with shitcoins. Coindesk did a great job calling it what it was. I think he should do the same, it clearly isn’t Bitcoin anymore it is more Crypto Bro than anything else.
"cryotocurrency" isn't an industry. It's a casino.
Paying for things... isn't an industry. Just like 'money' isn't an industry. It's just a means to an end - an end of better goods and services.
Crypto has a lot of backers and funding and bitcoin magazine has bills to pay.
They still push great Bitcoin content plus they had a huge part in freeing Ross.
They are the only publication that publishes a high quality magazine that can be purchased at an airport book store.
While the cypto pushing part of it sucks I understand why they allow them press because every single project exists because of bitcoin. And you never know where innovation, great ideas, and great talent will come from. Some great crypto developer may come to bitcoin via bitcoin magazine and the opposite can be true as well.
Ross’s mother did the most by far. Even with the grift he brought attention to the matter using his resources with the magazine and the t-shirts which Ross’s mom leveraged.
I can’t comment on the Libertarian party I don’t know much about them.
According to ChatGPT only about 2,000 people attended that rally while the bitcoin conference in 2024 had about 14,000 attendees.
Grift or not he definitely brought more attention to Ross than the libertarian party. Also Bailey allowed Ross to talk from jail as a keynote in a prime time slot.
It’s almost as if that party was using Ross to grow its presence because before Ross I couldn’t tell you one thing about that party.
Still back to the original point Boog had nothing to do with the grift more to do with the latter, trying to give one guy credit for freeing Ross is ridiculous.
