Most definitely. Machankura is really an interesting tool for Bitcoin adoption among the communities with unreliable or completely no internet access.

Isn't this the same system that is used for fiat payments in some parts of Africa for yeara? In other words, this is somethin like a custodial wallet. How easy is once you have received sats that way to send them to a standard lightning invoice?

Machankura is currently custodial service, but you have the option to send your sats instantly to a self-custodial wallet LN invoice, soon upon receiving. So, that's nothing to worry about.

It's currently available in 11 countries in Africa. Each country has a specific USSD code to access the service. If you're in Malawi, the USSD code is: *384*8333*0265#
