pull down to refresh

Was talking to one of the other dads at my daughter’s baseball practice tonight. He had an OKC Thunder cap on. I jokingly commented he looked like a bandwagon jumper pulling out that hat after they won the title. He said he is more an SGA fan than truly a Thunder fan but he was happy they won.

He also said he thought it was perfectly acceptable for all Canadians to jump on the Thunder bandwagon.

What say you stackers? Should Canada adopt the Thunder and celebrate our second ring?

Sats for all,
GR

I say go for it and make the Raptors win you back by winning games (or at least sign some more Canadians).

reply

SGA will be a Raptor at some point.

reply

Maybe the owner

reply

Owner/coach/player

reply

Absolutely not!

reply

But we can be Bills fans right?

reply

Of course just like buffalo people are Jays fans

reply

Pretty sure he would have been rocking a Pacers cap if they had won the chip, because of Nembhard and Mathurin. Bandwagoners will bandwagon.

It was cool that SGA was literally wearing our flag around his waist during the championship parade. But I'll keep on proudly wear my We The North cap and patiently wait for our team to become good again.

reply

This season. Raptors are the 2026 version of the Pacers.

reply

I don't think this season is our season. Not yet. But a fan can dream.

reply

Why does the NBA draft suck?

reply

I did like that story about the kid OKC drafted.

Says the guy that cheers for every LA team even if they are in competition with each other

reply

If I did go to the rams chargers preseason game then I would cheer the rams!

reply

China with Yao Ming made sense, but I don't know if that's allowed when your country already has a team, especially one that recently won a championship.

reply

Yeah it’s questionable at best. There are other NBA players from Canada as well. If there is only one guy and he is a star, I get it. I think it’s ok to root for SGA and hope the Thunder do well because of him but I don’t think we are allowed to celebrate like it’s 2019!

reply

I think as long as he’s not acting like he’s been a huge thunder fan forever, it’s fine.

reply

He is also a Raptors fan.

reply

Sports success is for those who do their part!
So if Canada supported/helped the Thunder win in some way, then they deserve it!

reply

I didn't SGA was from Canada. Now it definitely makes sense all Canadiens to alight OKC bandwagon.
And Indians too will jump on it as Canada has become 2nd home for them recently.

reply

Yes he is from Hamilton which is a city about 1 hour west of Toronto
