As I have mentioned before, Bulgaria is getting the Euro and places have already used it to jack prices up, so for me I have made a few changes, mostly based on principle.
Case in point, the Milka chocolate I would buy every now and then went from ten leva (5 euro - 5448 sats) to 14 leva the next week. so 7 euro, or 7627
and i just thought, fuck you, i'm not buying it.
Still, Euro or not, I think everyone has been wrecked by inflation post-COVID. That and I also find just being alive longer in fiat land means you remember what things used to cost, and over time, it kind of feels like you're being ripped all the time, even if, adjusted for inflation, you're not (although maybe you are because inflation is theft).
Another example, I saw something about how expensive a pint is in the UK now
And it elicits a kind of knee-jerk reaction, because the last time I was buying pints they were like 2.50. But that was 20 years ago. Still, my brain cannot and just will not accept a 7-pound pint lol
Have any of you stackers forgone a once-loved product due to inflation?

JK. I've changed some coffee origins for similar cheaper ones and am more mindful in general with groceries.

i remember in my 20s watching my father-in-law agonise over every price in the food shop, meanwhile I never used to check the price. Whatever I wanted went in the trolly.
now look at me! how the mighty have fallen lol

Didn't buy steak to BBQ two nights ago. Opted for Sausages instead.
Still do steak on the BBQ in the summer time but less often.

I still miss 60 cents for a scoop of ice cream 15 years ago; now it's €1.60.

I had an idea to put little toy dinosaurs into clay eggs so the kids could smash them for fun. The clay was $15 and I started looking into how to make clay myself.
I ended up just buying it, but this kind of thing happens a lot. If I can find a cheaper way by doing it myself, I go that route.

that's a great toy idea actually!

The kids loved it of course. The time it took to make it and the costs didn't really add up though

Reminds me of this.. in 2009 you could eat out for £5
Also, is that a 99p pint?

Not sure what you mean. Everything has been getting cheaper in sats.

Am living today more like a poor, starving college student than I did when I was a poor, starving college student.
Well, not really .. except for food purchases (Aldi's it is!) , and impulse items (I now buy only fuel at the convenience store, nothing else).

Mozzarella. Because I remembered it used to be 55% cheaper.
