I’m hoping to be able to focus on bitcoin projects full time, or at least enough to not need a separate full time job.
It feels close sometimes and that’s always exhilarating.
Kudos to you. Other than Stacker Sports Pod, are you working on any other exciting projects?
reply
I’ve been talking to the Predyx team about possibly joining them. That’s the one I’m most excited about, but it’s not trivial to find an arrangement that works for everyone.

Ha. Good luck to you trying to solve my unabashed fandom to get proper market dynamics. Remember the old saying "grayruby can stay irrational longer than you can stay employable".

We just need to find an even bigger dummy, who will be irrational longer than your wife lets you fritter away your savings.

I told my wife I want to invest in Predyx if they do some kind of community round. She was cool with it. I was showing her how the site works. She said "hold on, you guys are trading players like stocks". I said "not just players, teams too" haha.
She is bugging me about getting a house in the US again so I need to frame my degeneracy as an investment. Haha

Becoming a treasury company was something I pitched them on before everything was a treasury company.

You rang?

You are the smartest Aardvark I know.
I love this

Can I bet on whether or not you'll get on that team?!
reply
I don’t want to see them all loading up on No
reply
You could just give @grayruby inside info and you two would sweep the whole thing anyhow. I'm not saying you're corrupt, but....
reply
As if I’d leave any scraps for him.
reply
Don't bet - he'll be a part of us. Its just matter of when.
reply
That's cool! But yeah, I imagine it's tough to come to an arrangement
If you do join, I'm looking forward to seeing the Vickrey-Clarke-Groves mechanism on Predyx
reply
That’s exactly the sort of work I’m hoping to apply. It’s not my area of expertise but I did love covering these mechanisms in my theory and experimental courses.

Things are still in the horizon - apologies for all the delay. We've been so cramped up with the dev stuff. We just hired a new developer this week.
The biggest deployment/upgrade in the last 6 months will be dropped next week or so.
Derek will be getting in touch next week or so for something other than the original plan. That's the need of the hour and I believe you can handle it.
reply
It's no problem. Like any good bitcoiner, my time preference is stupidly low.
I was going to write something up this weekend for you guys that outlines some of what I have in mind in terms of contributions. You and I have discussed most of it, but it might help Derek be on the same page with us.
reply
Dude, that sounds like the dream. I have my fingers crossed for you. You're a smart guy, I'm sure you'll get there sooner or later.

I see a path, but my wife isn’t sold on it yet and it would be very risky. So, I’m trying to figure out how to phase into it and out of my current job.
reply
For some reason my wife won't let me put 100% of the profits from our upcoming home sale into bitcoin either....

What made you decide to sell? will you rent or buy another house?
reply
Home ownership really sucks. I hate the maintenance and the lawn work etc. Neither one of us particularly enjoy owning, so we're going to go back to renting.
The final nail in the coffin was when I showed my wife what the average 20 year return would look like if we put 100% of the profits in the s&p 500. That alone would beat the housing market without even considering the amount of maintenance we would be paying annually.
My wife is orange pilled to some degree, but she's not as all in as I am. We sat down and went over the expected returns over 20 years from S&P and figured out a minimum "safety net" for her risk tolerance, and the rest will go into bitcoin.

do you have all the HOA bollocks to deal with at all? Just something i've read about but sounds very dystopian!
