My theory about people like David Bowie.

Most Artists develop a good understanding of how to accomplish real world tasks and naturally become inherently selfish. In order to eat, they have to develop a way to convince people to buy their art.

The talented and successful ones are surprisingly good at this we hear about them and consume their creations all the time, But the extremely gifted ones evolve into someone, something else entirely every few years. They’re like chameleons, changing with the times, constantly shifting, pushing toward new ground. They can peer into the future, almost like they’re tapped into a higher dimension.
