I would say fare pretty well in terms of taking care of myself when left at home. I'm competent in cooking and doing chores (although my wife takes care of all of those when she's home), because my mom trained me well when I was little. If I feel lazy after work and don't want to cook, I just go to the nearby supermarket to buy their hot food cooked in house. Tradeoff is I probably eat a bunch of seed oils from the supermarket cooked food.
The house gets quiet though, because the boys are gone, and that I'm not very used to. But I'll be joining them near the end of the month, so it's just a few weeks of quiet and loneliness that I have to endure.
