The day has just finished at the Wimbledon Championships and we were on the verge of another dramatic ending. Djokovic was leading the match 2 sets to 1. In the fourth, he managed to just break Cobolli's serve and was leading it by 5-4 games. He was serving for the match and, with 40-30, he slipped falling to the floor. Cobolli equalized to 40-40. At the beginning, he remained on the floor and images of Dimitrov retiring against Sinner came back to my mind. His family and the rest of the crowd could not believe it. He managed to stand up, play a couple of points and won the game, set and match. I am not sure how he will be for the semifinal on Friday.
The other QF played today showed that Sinner had a bad day against Dimitrov and recovered very well. He defeated Shelton in 3 sets and making clear to those casting some doubts on him (including myself) that Monday's match was just an accident.
Yesterday, Alcaraz defeated Norrie in 3 straight sets. The final score 6-2 6-3 6-3 shows he did not give a single option to the British. He will play against Fritz on Friday, who beat Khachanov in 4 sets.
These results made @Carresan to finish QFs at the top with 18 points. @Riberet and @BlokchainB following close with 16 points.
On aggregate, thanks to these 18 points, @Carresan is leading with 1 point over @BlockchainB, who has 22. @grayruby and @User21000000, who were leading after the last 16 round, are following with 20 points, just 3 points behind. But, all stackers are within easy reach of the top.
So stay tuned as tomorrow I will be posting the SFs matchups.
