I’ve been watching the AI space evolve at breakneck speed but I keep wondering what the “standard stack” will look like five years from now.Today we’ve got a mess of APIs, wrappers, hosted models, local models, orchestration tools, vector DBs, agents, frontends, etc. It’s powerful, but fragmented. By 2030, will we settle into something more predictable like how LAMP or MERN stacks defined past eras? Will open source models take over? Or will a few dominant platforms make everything else irrelevant? Would love to hear thoughts from devs, builders, and anyone else watching the space closely. What parts of the stack do you think will still be around? And what will feel ancient?
