Sports’ future on HBO Max is an open question. Until the split occurs, TNT Sports’ entire portfolio, which includes the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, College Football Playoff games, Major League Baseball, NASCAR, National Hockey League games, the French Open, and the new women’s three-on-three league Unrivaled, will remain exclusively on the Warner Bros. Discovery flagship streaming service.
As soon as the split occurs, that relationship will end. Considering Zaslav said last month that sports “have been less critical” for the streaming service in the U.S., it’s hard to imagine HBO Max will continue to be the primary home for the company’s sports portfolio.
