I think the whole point of the article is to agree with you - DeFi actors don't have a choice in the matter. They kind of just do what the network, their foundations, tells them because minority forks become non-functional and worthless.
Miners seem to be the real victims here. Even if they support a minority fork that could preserve their hardware investment, it doesn't matter because the fork will wither and die due to contract dependencies that don't survive the fork. I guess PoS supporters have little reason to care about miners though.
Yeah maybe you're right. It's not very clear to me which side of the debate the article is on. Maybe that's the purpose of the article :D.
I wonder where will miners go. Mining Monero? :D
