Every task listing on Microlancer.io is a business/freelance contract, essentially.

Employer/Client lists the task with the details. When escrow is used (the default), funds are held in escrow by the platform. Upon completion of the task, the Employer/Client releases the escrowed funds to the Tasker/Worker. Microlancer platform assists with resolution when there is a dispute.

The task listing can be created as "private" (by adding the Tasker/Worker username as the only party that the listing will be shown). This lets the platform be used as a tool that gives both parties the ability to protect themselves, before beginning any work.

The fees on Microlancer are trivially low.
