read so much. read what you like.
entertain yourself on a blank page for as long as you can. if you can't, stop.
it helps do it in silence. it helps to speak out loud to yourself. (I actually don't know about that, but it could be true for you, who knows?)
ask for feedback whenever, and this is a great place to do it.
a couple years ago, I was asking stackers similar questions, and they had a lot of cool things to say #301588
it was like a highlight of my life, so could be worth looking at again
ps thank you @elvismercury for #302179. I haven't said so before, maybe once on stacker news live.
What you wrote there shook the ground for me a little bit.

This comes as a very welcome message to me right now for reasons you will never know. (Ha, so meta!)
Thanks for taking the time.

I have issues {x, y, z} and they manifest in {a, b, c}. Quitting […] would have been a short-term fix that solved nothing at all. Then {x, y, z} would simply have manifested in {p, q, r}. {x, y, z} is what needs to be dealt with.
Also thanks from me now for this. This is quite literally what I’ve been thinking about for the last six months, but phrased much better. Now I’ll never forget it!
you’re changing lives with your arrangements of words

When it rains it pours, I guess. Thanks v much. A good lesson as both a sender and receiver on the power of a kind word.

Reading my response to you hits differently, now that I know you a bit better. Cool that we have built a friendship through time even though we interact with each other only occasionally!
