OKC is dropping major fiat on basketball. All of their extensions almost equal $1B and now this new arena!
Construction is scheduled to start in early 2026. The goal is for it to be ready for the NBA’s 2028-29 season. Until then, the Oklahoma City Thunder will continue to play at Paycom Center, the team’s home court since 2008.
The project is being funded by a 72-month, one-cent sales tax that will start when the MAPS 4 tax ends, with an additional $70 million in MAPS 4 funding and $50 million from the Thunder ownership group.
