We figured out the issue, he used Lightning Wallet to sign-in. It seems there is a referral bug - on sign-up via LNWallet. We're working on fixing it.
After the fix is complete, we'll manually credit bonus sats to both the accounts. Thanks for helping us uncover this bug.
