As the Windows 10 end-of-life date rapidly approaches, Microsoft would really like for everyone to just upgrade to Windows 11 already. However, it's finding it difficult to dislodge the people who have stuck to their guns and stayed with Windows 10. While Windows 11 has surpassed Windows 10 for market share, there are still a ton of people hanging onto the older operating system. It has reached the point where the company has introduced ways for people to extend their Windows 10 support, albeit at a cost that requires either payment or investment in Microsoft's other products.

Not using Linux has become a red flag for me. If you do not absolutely have to use Windows - which in some cases I understand it is unavoidable - I don't really get the point and don't trust the person in other areas as well.

I will not be using windows 11! A trillion dollar market cap company laying off 9k people and squeezing every penny out their customers is ridiculous. People want to stay on windows 10 let them!

I wonder if this is why my wife has suddenly started having troubles with her home computer? A bunch of programs are giving her problems in Windows.

I guess more and more the costs of not have to buy new hardware all the time will be the reason to change to a GNU/Linux desktop as you can run those for more than five years. These company projects to switch from Win10 to Win11 are ridiculous expensive. People that care about privacy etc. have switched already a long time ago.

This alone is a relevant reason to use Linux
