The author does make some really fair critiques. It's nice to see someone thinking through things instead of shooting straight for FUD.
They do seem to ignore that priavcy can be achieved on Bitcoin and that gold can be critiqued in some similar ways, considering its legal history in some countries. Although privacy tools (coinjoins, stealth addresses, LN, chaumian mints, etc.) aren't as good as they might one day become, they are growing better and can one day allow users the choice to reveal their spending or conceal it.
