If I receive a payment to my Lightning Address, shouldn't that trigger a notification?
Otherwise, my balance just increases, and I won't know that someone sent some sats to me from their own wallet (i.e., versus flipping some sats my way within SN)
That’s a good idea.
When things like this (e.g., feature requests) pop into my head, should I create a Github issue, or put them out here first in a comment, like this one?
If you’re certain it’s good and well though out, gh. Otherwise if you’re like just thinking aloud or something, here.
Cool.
So when you write "That's a good idea.", should I then create a Github issue for it? Or, in k00bspeak does that mean, "good idea, ... and I already added it to my to-do list and/or started coding it'?
Can you create a gh issue for it? I guess I can just ask when appropriate lol
Done, issue #98.

Great, ... so there's now Youtube embeds on SN Posts, along with the earlier Twitter embeds.
But I can't post a .jpg or .png and have the image displayed when someone clicks the post. I have to do instead a Discussion post and then use image markdown (! [name] (URL) ) in order to get close enough to what image rendering for an image post would appear as.
Doing it with markdown instead is not a big deal, but then the Twitter Summary (or whatever they call it) doesn't display the image. For example, the Twitter Cards validator shows that SN Item #10459 will look like this:
https://pbs.twimg.com/card_img/1490243673518444545/CHfxXTRv?format=jpg&name=600x314.
So anyone including the link to the post in Twitter (and on Mastodon), doesn't get the image in the rendering of the post.
I suppose there are reasons for concern, ... a person could create a post with porn or something along those lines, and boost it, and that image will appear on the StackerNewsFeed accounts on Twitter and Mastodon as it ends up on the front page, and thus those following those accounts will see the image the person posted on SN, unfiltered (beyond what the SN WoT algo determines).
Yeah I'm having some issues with these social preview images - they are finicky. I spin up a headless chrome browser and screenshot the page ... As you can see, the font isn't loading either. It does in some cases and doesn't in others. I hadn't noticed the image problem though.
That social preview / (Twitter card summary) is one issue.
The second issue .... I am requesting to be able to do an SN Post, and for the link use a URL for a .jpg|.jpeg|.png, and that's all I need. SN will render that image when someone views that post.
This is in contrast to me having to do the SN Post as a Discussion post, and then include markdown to get an image displayed.
I see there is already an Issue in Github for this, issue #9
Added that in Github as Issue #99

Thought of the day:
I'm not suggesting we do the change in the UI, because to newcomers it's just more easy to call it "tip", but maybe it's something that insiders (instackers?) would use... :)
Virtual tips are helping content creators actually make money

This is awesome. I didn't know about these features. Their take is kind of crazy though.

Flick makes me think of
Maybe it’s just me though 😂. I agree tip is kind of weird and lame.
How about "fling" instead?
Or "sling", haha.
Sling some sats if you appreciate their effort.

The only place it shows Tip is when you click the lightning symbol, and Tip is the label on the submit button, right?
Or is that term used elsewhere as well? (Other than the two "How do I tip?" and "How do I reset my default tip?" questions in the FAQ)?
