CONGRATULATIONS
to all of those who participated in the inaugural edition of sn's only weekly writing contest, the BEST under 400.
from an essay on teaching, to an installment in a serialized New York lawyer's memoir, to an historical fiction horror story, i certainly enjoyed reading and zapping all your contributions.
even though this was not a "bounty" per se, it is one of the ways we'll determine the vibe here in our creative writers corner on sn, with some help from the zapranking algo to determine the BEST under 400
another thing im planning territory-wise is to share some tried and true writing best-practices. if you have some that have worked for you (or other creative tips), then have at it!
on winning
as previously alluded to, in keeping with the friendly/competitive nature of these parts, ill be participating in the competition myself every week with my own contributions (id rather not try to hide behind another nym to submit)
every week mine 'wins' the prize rolls over to the next week's (@cryotosensei you might get your wished-for 8888 zap, or bigger even).
therefore, my additions will have the double effect of adding to the territory activity and increasing the prize stakes. im hoping it should also incentive zaps on other's posts.
if someone can provide a better reason not to participate in my own contest, im willing to change this policy.
winner will be announced at 1600 utc today, in a separate post where the next weeks' prompt will be announced as well.
