Of course it lied about it. It was trained on human responses in similar situations.
As with previous hype cycles, I suspect AI will be a transformative technology but not in the ways advertised and not as quickly.

Agreed!! It might take a good long time to work into general usage and replace people. Previous examples would be the PC and the internet. They were not instantly adopted by everyone, it took quite a while to get into general circulation and then become necessities.
