Yesterday my wife and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We were planning on having a quiet day, going out to eat, toasting the journey we've come, and having a peaceful night... buuuut.
I finished work early and asked to leave early (even though I work from home). While she was giving our children their afternoon snack, I took the opportunity to give the oldest a bath. Everything seemed under control. But suddenly, the youngest started fussing, crying, and within minutes he was vomiting up his snack. He calmed down for a while, then started again. Then, diarrhea. And to complete the combo: a slight fever.
Our "perfect" day turned into a sleepless night, with the child withered and us by his side, attentive, tired, cuddling him with warm towels, home remedies, and pampering. We ended up ordering a pizza and a Coke and sharing a silent handshake between parents who understand that sometimes love looks like this: without candles or toasts, but full of dedication.
And I thought: neither Bitcoin, nor gold, nor all the money in the world can buy health, harmony, or the tranquility of an ordinary day.
Bitcoin is an incredible tool, yes. It has helped me understand many things about value, freedom, time… but it has also taught me (or rather, reminded me) that there are things that are not listed on any market, and that are priceless.
So today more than ever, I am grateful: not only for this technology that can help change the world, but for that other silent richness, the one that happens at home, amidst the chaos, the fever, and the last-minute pizza.
