Buckle up stackers because this one is going to be a big one. Well I think it might be but let’s see what happens. So my morning started at 4am I woke up in a town called Mornington. I was in one of Jimmy’s spots. These are spots that I have from when I was on the road. Pretty much I would always change where I park the van everyday day. I would rock up at a spot at 10pm and then leave at 5am. That way I avoid annoying people, seeming suspicious and blah blah blah and so on. This spot is near the police station there is a big white bus that is still the area as well if that gives you any indication to where this spot is if you are from the area.
So Russell and myself were off for the morning walk.
Now the night before I had started a project but more to come on that project in a later post. At this point the walk was over and we were at the 7/11 getting fuel. We put in our last $50 note. Keep in mind payday isn’t until Thursday and the bank still hasn’t resolved our $942 theft plus we had our good mate Luke (more about Luke shall be revealed in future posts) loan us $1840 dollars to help as get the roadworthy for the van to get it ready to sell by the 13th of August or Mr. Jimmy Honey is facing bankruptcy! Dun dun duuuunnnnn.
The tank of my beautiful van was now half full and we were back on the road heading down the peninsula. I saw a sign that read Mornington cemetery and I thought let’s go give Russell another walk so I did.
I took a lot of photos of different graves this was my favourite grave. I’m trying to think of a name for the photos and my brain just keeps saying move bitch get out the way but I feel that is a bit insensitive. If anyone thinks of something better please let me know.
After the cemetery we were back on the road and stopping at our next spot which was Mount Martha. A friend of mine that I met in Rye when I first broke down back in October used to live in shipping containers in the bush in Mount Martha. He is a very interesting man unfortunately I didn’t get to see him this time around which sucks because he was the reason I ended up back there in the first place. The stop in Mount Martha was a short one I got some snaps of different coffee brands and a laneway. I’m going to say that bean cartel is the obvious winner here.
Next up on the list was Dromana which has a very cute vibe. The mission this time was street and cafe art. As we began our hunt we walked past a cafe called Ours. There was a girl inside that gave one of the most welcoming smiles I have ever seen. It was so welcoming that it made me stop tie up Russell and go get a coffee. Decaf of course otherwise mania man over here might blow up.
I can’t remember if I paid for the coffee with exact change or if I broke a twenty either way it would cost me later. Also I let her know that she had a welcoming smile and that it made me come back in for a coffee. She said thank—you and then I was off again coffee in hand ready to snap some street art.
I also chucked in a bell that I saw at a fire station and a pier. You might notice that Russell and I do enjoy a good walk on a pier. We continue our walk now heading along the Droman beach. It was raining now but we didn’t mind. Oh before I forget Russell made a friend near the flamingos. He was jumping all over this lady but she didn’t mind because she was telling me that she had a boxer that was much worse and I was like oh don’t worry I know what boxers are like. My aunty has one and we took her for a walk around the block to go to the toilet. She was that excited to see me that she forgot to go so my cousin made me stay home for the second lap. There were also two poodle crosses that we met I think one was called Charlie but I can’t remember the other one’s name and they were both crosses with different dogs one was a Labrador and the other ones type escapes me.
This walk was great fun. Lots of cute little beach houses to take photos of. Also another dead puffer fish. Which seems to be the theme of the week. We walked all the way to the McCrae beach car park. Which is another one of Jimmy’s spots. On the way back we stopped into Hoagie’s smoked BBQ sandwiches . It cost $20 for a Hoagie and I only had $17 if only we had missed that welcoming smile I could have been munching on a tasty smoked BBQ sandwich. It will just have to wait till next time but for now check out all the great art that was inside.
I have one more piece of street art from Dromana and then it was off to a picture frame shop in McCrae. I stopped in there to see if they knew anyone or anywhere that would buy an original art piece I had bought while I was manic. They did not but I did recall my friend Frank from my life drawing sessions mentioning Portsea or Sorrento which are down the very end of the peninsula so luckily that was the way I was heading.
@koob just to update you the health shop and dharma centre was where I got my Tarot deck.
Now it’s looks like I’m going to have to break this story into different parts because as of now it’s only 12pm in the story and it keeps going until about 3am. Plus it cost me 1085 sats to post at this point. I’m definitely in a mania I woke up at 6am ready to go. It might be a little while before I post part 2 I gotta get this van looking tip top to sell so that’s all I’ll leave you with for now.
