Well I can’t get the van ready at the moment because I am stuck and if you stick around I shall tell you the rest of my story and we will see if you guys will find out why I am stuck or if this will be a three part story just depends on how much I write.
So we were last at McCrae and now we are heading into Rosebud this is the part where the hunt begins! The hunt for 127 film. Rosebud has lots of Op Shops. For my overseas readers Op means opportunity and they are a second hand goods shop usually linked to charities also the street art and statues in Rosebud are great too.
Now unfortunately the first shop I went into was probably my favourite shop out of all of the them. Now before I forget I also went to Coles which is a supermarket here in Australia. I got a protein bar and a health drink for myself. Today I was buying foods and drinks based on the colour purple, which is a thing I do sometimes days have a particular colour that I assign them. For Russell I got him some liver treats and a chewing snack. He did not like the chewing snack. So now we are at $0 until Thursday or let’s see if can I find a buyer for my painting. I also have power tool I could sell or perhaps the van will be sold before then! Let’s find out.
Now back to the story. I had a quick look around and couldn’t see any film so I decided to ask the lady at the counter. As I was asking her I noticed her name tag said Bee. ( in my mind anytime anything honey related pops up I take it as a sign I am on the right path) I said I love your name she smiled and said it’s not her real name I believe she said it was Beatrice but she prefers Bee I told her my last name is Honey so it’s a good match. She told me that didn’t have any film but sometimes it comes in so she said she will take down my number and herself or someone might call me if some comes in. We also talked about all how she got a Bee tattoo on her ankle when she was drunk and young and how she had to find it church and we both laughed and well least you don’t have to worry about that in the modern age. I said to Bee “I have a tattoo too” and we both ended up showing each our ink. I mentioned that I love all the street art in the area and she said “have I seen the wall outside their shop” and I said “yes I took a photo before I came inside.” Then I said goodbye to Bee I have a feeling they will find some 127 film. The next part of the story is when running around Rosebud checking Op shops and snapping photos of street art. So please enjoy.
When I was in one of the Op shops one of the staff suggested I try cash converters for film. Luckily I had parked in front of one the night before when I was buying mince meat for Russell so off I went. There were also two Op shops near the cash converters it wasn’t a proper cash converters just solo pawn shop. Unfortunately the Op shops were closed. While I was in there I decided to see if I could sell my Caterpillar impactor and drill. They were spares I had won they sell for $650 brand new unfortunately they didn’t want to buy she google for me how much an actual cash converters sells them for and they sell them for $400. She said just put them online for $350 and I’m sure you will sell them. So I put them online and bam like the flock of seagulls when you open a packet of fish and chips on the beach the scammers began swooping in. Bloody! “I live here can I can pay for a courier” and then they start sending in there scams links.
Getting frustrated by the scammers I decided to hit road again and head to Portsea and Sorrento. I didn’t make to Portsea but I did go to two galleries in Sorrento. In one of the galleries there was an art piece that really spoke to me but I have no moneys which in this case is a god send because I would buy all the things. To be fair though I believe I am getting better at managing my mania because I am self aware of what’s happening. I did say to Luke later that day if you ever hear me say I need to sell my Bitcoin that is a clear indicator I am manic and you need to shoot me with tranq dart. In the other gallery the Lovely lady in there suggested I take it back to where I got it because circumstances change all the time and things happen where you need to take art work back. I also told her the story about how I originally lost it because it blew itself off the roof of my van however that is a story I am saving for another time.
So online failed me for the tools and the galleries failed me for the painting. The next option was driving to cash converters in Frankston. On the drive to Frankston I called Luke to fill him in about how the Banks are being dicks and we discussed how much I should ask for the power tools. I said “I would be happy with $200 so I’ll ask for $250 to give some wriggle room for haggling. We also talked about how crazy things seem in America at the moment and all the Trump and Epstein stuff and how fucked up and perverted Hollywood is. It wasn’t all negative talk there were positives like how he had just made muffins with the extra citrus fruit he had claimed from work. We chatted away until I had made to Frankston.
Now Frankston is the weirdest place. If a vibe exists you can find it in Frankston. There is a saying in Thailand that if you can’t find it in Bangkok it doesn’t exist. Frankston is like that but for vibes. Frankston is a rich kid who has all the mental health disorders and is on every drug that was ever made. They have a gold tooth right next to a rotten tooth and the left hand side of their body is tattooed. They are wearing a singlet with a leather jacket and a backpack while wearing a fancy yacht shoe but only one. They have a mohawk, mullet, moustache with twirls and a beard full of dreadlocks. They are also wearing jeans but the left hand side has been ripped off and their belt is a collection of rubber bands held together by safety pins. That ladies and gentlemen is Frankston.
Unfortunately the man at cash converters would only offer $100 for my tools but he did tell me where all the other pawn shops in town were so off I went to see what they would offer. Now oh my god the street art that was around on the way to the other pawn shops were amazing! I took as many photos as I but wanted to be quick because Russell was in the van. Now all the other pawn shops were closed expect for one but the in the other pawn shops wouldn’t even look at the tools unless there were the main brands. To be fair the lady in the first shop did say tools are moving slow at the moment. She did mention Pokémon cards but I had already cashed those in for $400 at an earlier date. So I accepted defeat and took the $100 dollars. Then I went to McDonald’s to get some nuggets and cheese burgers for Russell and myself. After that it was time for then mega street art walk! I’ll also upload other photos of Frankstons vibe. It’s like a football oval next to an art centre then you have a 6 lane road next to a channel and then you have a yacht club and a beach all surrounded by half built buildings or completely demolished buildings.
By the time I had taken the last photo it was now 6:50pm. During my walk I met a very nice lady called Michelle and her son Tobias (Michelle if you ever read this sorry if I got your son’s name wrong. I have been really struggling with names recently.)
Michelle and I had a great chat and spoke about the vibe of Frankston. She lived in the area and knew exactly what I was talking about she was like one side of the train tracks is all poor people and drugs while on the other side houses are going for 3.4 million. Unfortunately while we were chatting Russell and Tobias were playing and the ocean stole the glow in the dark ball. Michelle and I also spoke about all kinds of things mental health, kids, family. I always find who I need on the beach. Michelle is going to try and add me on instagram if she gets it back and that’s how my instagram works only organic connections. Now this looks like it might be a three parter. In the next chapter Jimmy and Russell are heading to Port Melbourne.

I just realised all the photos didn’t upload however it was quite a lot and cost me a few sats so I’m going to have to curate my posts a bit better.
