I agree. There is a strong case for liberals to support and adopt bitcoin. However most liberal politicians have become strongly attached to fiat money as a means of funding their programs. Many liberal people have been sold the FUD BS on Bitcoin being a PONZI Scam and environmental threat. As a liberal who believes in the need for good government and progressive policies I joined the Occupy protests, but they had little effect - because the banks have come to hold far too much power over politics of all shades - but then Bitcoin provided a powerful peaceful means of protest - of rejecting the state sponsored fiat monetary monopoly- that politicians have gifted private bankers which enslaves us all to debt and debasement which only profits bankers and politicians. It is depressing how few liberals see the need for Bitcoin and for the banks to be returned to a position of service rather than their current position of rentseeking dominance over our economies and politics. I agree with the freedom of choice that the right sometimes voices but find it strange how silent most right leaning people are on the abuse of power by the banks. Fiat money is not a free market- it is a state sponsored monopoly franchised out to private rentseeking bankers. Bitcoin can fix this if enough of us want it to. Otherwise Bitcoin will continue to be captured by corporate custody, KYC state surveillance and the narrative of NGU HODL hoarding speculative commodity inanity which leads to exactly zero true monetary system revolution.
