For me, with all the podcasts, it's that I now listen to podcasts and audiobooks (free from your local library) at 4x.
And I'm never going back. It's become an incredible hack for learning efficiently. I'm convinced all students will be doing this in the future, if they're not already.
Start at 1.2x, 1.5x, you'll work your way up slowly over time. Daily reps will get you there. You'll realize how slow most things sound at 1x.
Just try to not let the efficiency treadmill get the best of you IRL; prioritize still being present with your people in real time — don't speed that up.
It's extended my time preference in general.

4x is hard to imagine. Most apps I have only go up to 2x.

totally possible with time. This is after 7+ years of hours of daily listening, slowly working my way up to it. Plateaued at 2.4x for 6 months years ago. I could do 5x now, but I stick with the 4x limit of AntennaPod because it is hands down the best podcast player as it has no trackers and permission asks, like every other app.

My wife listens to everything in 2x. I personally think learning is one area of life that you’re always more efficient doing slowly. …but maybe that just says something about me more than learning. 😬
