Caught this at the bottom:
the real value in the Pixel family for Google is in the software and subscription services such as Google One and Google Gemini.
Perhaps this is why full AOSP support is pulled? (see: #1005566)
I don't think that there are much benefits to One and Gemini coming from custom ROMs, so it made sense for Google to cut costs on this?
