Students in Singapore have to undertake a major exam called the Primary School Leaving Examination. For English, they have to sit for an oral exam and demonstrate their communication skills in front of two teacher examiners.
The syllabus has been overhauled recently. Students are expected to first respond to a photograph. Take for instance these two boys practising taekwondo:
