Dear Aiko
[Use of I and you] Hi, how are you? I’m fine.
[Use informal vocab (really, so mad)] I’m really disappointed that the competition I was looking forward to got cancelled. It was supposed to be held at Boon Keng Community Centre on 20 May 2023 from 7 to 10pm. [Use of contractions (I'm, could've)] Sadly/Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to the judge falling ill with a fever. This cancellation left me quite disheartened, as I had been eagerly anticipating the competition. We spent the entire week training so hard for the competition, and all of that was wasted for nothing! I was so mad because I was really looking forward to performing! {Use exclamation marks to sound indignant] In my opinion, the organizers could have considered postponing the competition instead of cancelling it outright. Alternatively, they might have engaged another speaker to ensure the event could still proceed. It seems to me that there were several options available to avoid this disappointment.
Anyway, thanks for listening to me vent! Have you had any tests recently? Let me know how you did. Can’t wait to see you soon!
Love
Sensei
